THANK YOU!

Firstly, I wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who has had an appointment with me in 2022, you are helping to keep my small business afloat and I really appreciate it. We also have to say goodbye, and a massive ‘thank you’ to the lovely Luise Ventress who has been working at the clinic on Fridays since June. Luise already had her own home visiting podiatry business, which is currently fully booked, and has a waiting list into next year! As many of you will know, fewer podiatrists are offering home visits, so Luise is going to concentrate fully on running that business, and she will be a very busy lady. If anyone thinks they may need home visits in the near future I would urge you to make contact soon to put your name on her waiting list. Her number is 07873 944 198.

SATURDAY APPOINTMENTS

I have realised that there is very little podiatry provision in the Wiltshire area on Saturdays, which makes it difficult for some people to access podiatry care. So from January, I am going to trial opening on Saturday mornings for a few months, starting with one Saturday morning a month. If this proves to be a popular day then I will keep it going, and may even expand into two or three Saturdays per month. I hope this is helpful for those who work full time during the week. Please tell your friends, neighbours and family members that Saturday morning appointments are now available via the online booking system on the website.

MORE APPOINTMENT CHOICE

There is a multitude of services that I can offer, and I love being able to help. Did you know that I am insured to cut fingernails as well as toenails? So you can have that done during your appointment too! Do you struggle to wash your feet? If so, I can provide a foot wash as part of your appointment. For those who want a bit of pampering there is the Medical Pedicure (Medi Pedi). I have made everything available to view so you will be able to see my full ‘menu’ of appointments on the podiatry page. Don’t forget you can ‘mix and match’ the types of appointment you have, you don’t always have to have the same one. The only exception being the Simply Toenails Service, as this is strictly limited to those who have been assessed as suitable for this basic nail cut appointment.

Most of the appointments will now be available to book online. The exceptions to online booking are the more invasive surgical appointments which will need a pre-op assessment.

If you can think of other appointments that you would like to see - please let me know - I might be able to add them to the range of services on offer!

MEDICAL PEDICURE - COLOURS COMING SOON (HOPEFULLY)

If you have already had a med-pedi with me, you will know that I haven’t been offering nail varnish as part of the appointment, because most nail varnish systems can detract from nail health. Recently I have discovered a mineral based nail colour system, which advertises as non-toxic with no nasty chemicals, but also cruelty free and vegan. I have ordered a sample set to try, and if suitable, I will be able to offer nail colour as part of the medical pedicure. I will update everyone as soon as the product has arrived and I have tried it out.

FEE FREEZE OR REDUCTION

After a challenging few years many people now face a period of austerity. I have sat down and reviewed and rejigged all my fees and charges, and I have pared off what I can, where I can. Where prices have stayed the same I can promise a price freeze as we enter 2023, with all prices staying the same until 31 March, however, to make this viable, please be aware that there will be no more discounted appointments or free reviews from 1st January.

There will be a temporary reduction in the ‘same day’ cancellation charges, also until end of March and effective immediately. Short appointment cancellation fees will be reduced from £33 to £20; Standard appointment cancellation fees will be reduced from £48 to £30; and Extended appointment cancellation fees will be reduced from £55 to £40, however, these charges will be applied in all instances. It is not possible to remove these fees entirely as I still have to pay my bills even when patients don’t turn up, but I am hoping this temporary reduction may be helpful to people over this winter period.

DECEMBER APPOINTMENTS

Don’t forget that there are fewer appointments in December due to the holidays, so if you are hoping for an appointment before Christmas I urge you to book now. During the year I also opened the diary so patients could see appointment availability up to 12 weeks ahead instead of just 8 weeks. This was to help make your diary planning easier. Feedback has been positive so this option will stay.
